Don’t show me your delights

            Let them arise unbidden
            From the snows, the quietude,
            The ordinary

Like a snatch of song at deathbeds
            Or a rascal mirth

            Forget the scaffolding and prayers
            And taming seas with ingenuity,
The sinew and the vise of love

            I’d rather spume and froth,
Majestic play, the tangled veil and
            Slowly, with a grin,
            Your loosening

            From nothing, everything
