A Personal Theory of Relativity

            If every uttered truth
Takes off a pound of flesh
            While every lie
            Adds an equivalent

I’m glad that I’ve stopped gaining weight

            By baseball’s standards
            Such an average would be
            Out of sight

            Although by heaven’s
Pete would surely shut the gate
